Responsibilities:
The Application Engineer-Genset must provide technical expertise through the different phases of the sales process.
Recommend company products to meet the Customer's needs through feature-benefit selling.
Assist Sales Managers and Sales Representatives in setting up product and sales strategies as needed.
Must handle correspondence with the Customers and Sales Representatives on matters relating to applications, technical support, and other activities.
Must present the company's Electric products and systems to Customers at various seminars held throughout the year, including regional seminars, and other conferences as necessary.
Must write technical White Papers and application notes as necessary.
The position facilitates the sales process by promoting and providing application engineering support of the company's products to potential and existing customers.
Must schedule visits with current and potential customers by collaborating with local Sales Representatives, Territory Managers, and authorized distributor personnel.
The Application Engineer-Genset must play a leading role in training all employees including other application engineers, design engineering and application specialists as well as customers on the company's product applications.
Must lead in developing and presenting formalized seminars at customer locations and industry events.
This position reports to the Strategic Accounts Manager.
Qualifications:
The Application Engineer-Genset must hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
Being Licensed Professional Engineer in a related field or a technical equivalent degree, is desired.
Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as an application engineer in power systems.
Must have experience with excitation systems or rotating equipment.
Must have experience with 3 phase power systems in the Utilities and Industrial Market or have experience with static frequency converters.
Must have conducted training programs/ workshops to application engineers, design engineering and application specialists as well as customers on product applications.
The Application Engineer-Genset must be willing to travel up to 50%.
